4. Exfoliate Regularly to Have Smoother Skin
Exfoliation is the most important factor to smoother and brighter skin. It helps to remove dulling skin debris and dead cells, which prevents the skin from breathing. Exfoliate with a natural home remedy, such as coffee grounds mixed with sea salt and oil. Don’t forget that exfoliation is required for your entire body skin, not just your face skin. However, you should always be gentle while exfoliating your skin. Do not over-exfoliate since your skin will get bruised and you might end up getting rashes. People with sensitive skin had better opt for mild exfoliators tender on the skin.
5. Wear Sunscreen
Sunscreen must be your best friend during summer days. Pick up one that has a broad ultraviolet spectrum (about 30-50 SPF and covers both UVA and UVB rays). Reapply after three hours if you are spending all day in the sun. Remember to cover your hands, shoulders, neck, legs, and feet as well.
6. Ease up on Makeup
Summer is the time when you should cut down on the makeup. Wear minimal facial makeup to help the skin breathe better. Humidity and heat suppress the skin’s ability to breathe and therefore stress it out. Avoid anything heavy on the skin. Use a tinted moisturizer, organic kajal, and tinted lip balm in summer to help your skin be able to rest.
7. Use a Refreshing Toner
Using a good toner can close your open pores. This is necessary in summer to prevent oil accumulation in the open pores. Especially, the t-zone on your face has the largest concentration of sebaceous glands and will look slickest in the summer months. Care for this zone while toning your face. Use an aloe vera or cucumber based toner which is light and refreshing.
8. Change Your Moisturizer
When summer comes, you have to ditch those shea butter laden moisturizers and heavy cold creams for a lighter one. Do not misunderstand that your skin requires no moisture in the summer months.
